Last night we had our first big Excelsior rehearsal for Got Rhythm? and I am easily a hundred times less stressed afterwards. We had a 5 hour marathon rehearsal of the Vivaldi, Schubert and the DFM set, which went amazingly well. The musicians were fed and watered…lasagna and chocolate chip cookies. We head into rehearsal #2 tomorrow and I know that the pieces are going to sound amazing.
Also on tomorrow is Elisha Denburg’s recital, “Liasons.” I’ll be performing in the work, “Petite Musette” which is a wind octet for flute, oboe, english horn, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, horn and trumpet. Elisha is a fantastic composer and I am looking forward to hearing the rest of his works tomorrow night. If you’re not doing much on a Sunday night in Toronto, come on out to a FREE concert…why not!
