For my birthday I received a beautiful book from my sister called “Food in Jars” by Marisa McClellan. I quickly read it from cover to cover and got so excited to preserve ALL the summer produce!
I got overzealous marking recipes I wanted to try and the book now looks like this:
Not that that’s a bad thing…I called up by good friend Sam and after scoring cherries on sale for $1.88/Lb (The Winnipegger in me is VERY smug right now!), our first foray into the world of preserves was pickled cherries…and oh my goodness they are BEAUTIFUL!!!! I don’t even want to open the jars to try them because they just look so gosh darn pretty!
